Social Media Scraping

This workshop will provide you with an overview of the tools you need, and options you have for scraping social media sites and webpages for data. In the second half of the workshop, participants will set up a general script that can be altered to scrape basic data on twitter. This workshop is intended for people new to web scraping and looking for how to get started. Some very basic familiarity with Python or another programming language will be beneficial. You will NOT be writing your own code, but to get the most out of the second half of this workshop, you need to be able to modify someone else’s code.
