Announcing the first meeting of the  GCDI Digital Project Working Groups!

Held this Friday, September 30th, at 2:30pm in room 9205, in this initial meeting we will be the start of a new program run offered by the Digital Fellows that is designed to bring together communities of CUNY students who are interested in working on similar projects.

The Working Groups designed to provided sustained support for students working on similar projects.  We aspire to create space for participants to share skills, learn new skills together, ask questions and collaborate on digital projects with CUNY students who share your interests.  This is not a lecture-based group, but rather, a space to create community around similar projects and skills.

We currently have three planned Working Groups, which include but are not limited to:

  • Python Learners Working Group
  • Text Analysis Working Group
  • GIS Working Group

Got a skill you’d like to learn in one of the above working groups?  Come to the meeting and learn it!  Got a skill you’d like to teach in one of the above working groups?  Come the to meeting and learn it!  Have an idea for a working group that you don’t see included above!  Come to the meeting and suggest it!   We want to provide sustained support for as many student digital projects as we can, and we want to help you meet each other so that you can work together to support each other, as well!

During our first meeting, we will be discussing the style and format of the Working Groups, in addition to creating the Working Groups who will be meeting this semester.   If you’re unable to attend the first meeting but are interested in joining a Working Group, please email us at gc[dot]digitalfellows[at]gmail.com

Everyone is welcome to attend!
