Data Visualization 1

In this workshop, Digital Fellows Micki and Erin will present the fundamentals of using and visualizing data in humanities research – data preparation and basic visualization. The workshop will touch on common challenges and useful strategies for working with and visualizing ‘born analog’ and ‘born digital’ sources. The data cleaning segment will demonstrate effective ways to aggregate and prepare data for humanities analysis, including managing online and PC/Mac-based spreadsheets and data sets. The visualization segment will present a number of available tools for creating visual representations of the data.
